Bullseye by Polyphonic Spree App Reviews

Pretty, but not worth 1.99

This is over before its begun which is a shame because it is very beautiful. Keep it updated with new content and perhaps it will warrant its pricetag.

Wheres the game?

Beautiful looking "game" but I sat there and watched something walk across my iPod screen for like 5 mins then it was over... There was no interaction at all. You can touch the background and make plants come to life...but that is literally the whole game... On a good note... It uh.. Had pretty colours??

Disappointing

Not a patch on Morris Lessmore or the Numberleys.

Wow!

Great app, great music. Full of magic and poetry. My best compliments to moonbot studios and the band!

Should be free

This simple musical journey should be free. There is hardly any interaction available to the user.

Inspirational

Polyphonic Spree has never disappointed in creating meaningful and positive music (something the world is sorely needing more of). This app brings their new music to life in a new way (an especially nice on the iPad 2). It is subtle and fun at the same time. Please add more or consider creating additional interactive videos. Great job.

Great song fun idea

Fun visual jaunt through this track, would like to see a little bit more interaction.

LOVE

What an intriguing way to present such a lovely song. This interactive app tells a story about all of us trying to find our way through the world. We are all "Balancing" our struggles just like "you-me". This song has such deep meaning, I "get it" do you?

A New Wave

Perhaps others have experimented with releasing a new song for a long anticipated album in this fashion b4, but I havent noticed b4 this. Fun visual run. Lots to touch & tap & watch as the song parlays from section to section. Worth the $2. Would love to know the backstory on development of this app & when You-me dolls will be avail on Etsy ;) Pros- new polyphonic spree! 2 versions of the song (studio & acoustic) Fun interactions that pop & sparkle & grow at the tap of your finger. Beautiful spreeesque design. Cons- song does not play in background if app closed. Would have been nice to have a code or link to get an digital version of song to play on iPod not just an app.

Beautiful song and visuals

The interaction is subtle. I excepted a little more control of the you-me when reading the settings info. Also, I wish the app came with an mp3 version of the song so you can listen to it without the app.

Pretty and soft and cough...

I really like this band. Im a little disappointed they left that cough in at the end of the song, (oh! Spoiler!), but its still a lovely single filled with the childlike simplicity they captured so perfectly in light and day. This app is pretty much just a little kind of toy to poke at while you listen to the song. You can open a flower or two but cant really do much to affect the animation, which moves along at its own pace. You cant, for example, linger at a particular spot and noodle around with the scenery.... The description from Moonbot sort of leaves that impression. The animation, however, is really cute and illustrates the song well. My young kids will probably love it. Its the kind of thing youd find on a bands website. It would have been more satisfying, I think, if the listener/user were able to truly explore the world of this song, rather then just be carried along through the video poking at stuff as it went. Still, I hope there is more,(and more interactive) videos like this and I was happy to invest the $2 This cost in order to encourage more releases. For sure this is a step in the right direction and I can see reserving a folder on my iPad for just these sorts of videos.

Nice title screen. Thats all I got...

Money back, please. Seriously. Ive installed this app on my iPad v1 several times, but have never seen the video. Did I mention wanting my money back?

Reach for the sun!

Great song, cool app.

A beautiful experience

This truly is a beautiful song and video. In many ways this app shows the future of the music video genre. However, the low level of interactivity is disappointing. It would be nice to have a sort of free form experience included. I want more, both positively of the app and unfortunately from the app.

Beautiful and artistic, but justified purchase? Debatable

Bullseye is a beautiful and artistic visual interactive experience, but its also one whose value I would greatly question. I understand the need to support musicians and artists and the fact that no game or app is cheap (subjectively) to make, but this is one in which the entire sensation can be had in less than 5 minutes. At $2 thats a high price to pay. There are moments, unfortunately, where the frame rate either drops or stutters. This wouldnt be so bad if watching, enjoying, and interacting with the animation werent part of the experience.

Very beautiful

Very nice app and creative way to get their music to audiences

Eh...

Good song but gets boring after the first run. Needs more interactive features. Would be cool if you get the song for free in iTunes after DL the app. Wouldnt that be nice? If theres updates with more songs i would say its worth it. But for now....just eh.

Supremely disappointing...

What a colossal waste of money. The song is ok, and its nice that there are two versions, but for $2, you should at least get a digital download of the single. As it is, the "interactive video" is hardly interactive. You can simply tap things, and 90% of what you tap does nothing. It is "interactive" in only the most very basic form of the word. On tip of that, the visuals arent really even interesting enough to stand in their own. I believe in supporting local and indie musicians, but if this is all they have to offer, Id much rather just pay for a digital single. I wouldnt feel cheated for that. As it is, I do.

Experience the future

This is a startlingly beautiful and original way to experience music. In the future, when a digital sound play becomes the default way to experience music, please remember The Polyphonic Spree.

Horrible

Worst app ever! Not worth the money. 3-5 minute interactive song. Not a game and not fun at all!! Do not download!!!
